BPC Round Robin Event

Another great initiative from BPC happened last Thursday.

By Sill Lyra

Considering the weather, the time table was moved to 10 AM, a very smart move from the organizers.

We all enjoyed a beautiful sunny day of at least 2 hours of pickleball, with a friendly fierce competition from all participants.

Indeed, there is not another way to improve our game, than participating in events of this nature.

The self-control to face our best competitor…ourselves. That adrenaline-induced desire to -smack the ball, when the right move should be a gentile touch to win the play…this is the real challenge of the game…this wonderful game that is pickle ball.

Paddles up my friends! On October 24th we will have another opportunity for the 3.0 and 3.5 and on the 26th for the 2.0 2.5 players.

Battle of the Sexes – Pickleball Style!

From Nick Leach:

BoSMost of us seasoned pickleball players remember the Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs tennis “Battle of the Sexes” in 1973 but some didn’t get a chance to watch.

Well, now you have a chance to watch Pickleball’s own version of the “Battle of the Sexes”.

On October 7th at 3:00 pm MST pickleball legends Simone Jardim and Scott Moore battle it out for a great fundraising event and then the two will take on another great pickleball duo, Steve Dawson and Corrine Carr in another epic match up.

You can stream live the event from your computer, with your login and password. Don’t miss it!

This is going to be GREAT!!

Can You Best Boise’s Best?

BBBAre you interested in testing your pickleball skills, but don’t have the endurance for a full tournament? …

Treasure Valley Pickleball Clubs are raising money to build a 12-court dedicated pickleball facility. “Beat Boise’s Best” is a donate-to-play event held on May 27, after competition events are finished at Settlers Park.

BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK…for a $50 tax-deductible donation you and your partner will play a game to 11 against Glenn Spivey & Zack Pancheri (our resident 5.0 team).

See how many points you can score.

The worst that could happen is you could learn something, while supporting the sport of pickleball.

Cement your spot on their ‘dance card’ today by sending an email with a subject of ‘Beat Boise’s Best’ to Barbara Dumler (bdumler2@gmail.com).
