HOBBLE CREEK COMPLEX FUND RAISING COMMITTEE UPDATE

HOBBLE CREEK COMPLEX FUND RAISING COMMITTEE UPDATE

December 2017

The Committee thanks the Pickleball Advocates for their support and donations to the Hobble Creek Complex. Our partner, the Boise Parks and Recreation Department (BP&R), continues to support this project, as indicated in the email which Director Doug Holloway sent on November 14, 2017. He stated that once we raise the necessary $100,000.00, the BPR would apply for the Land and Water Conservation grant. The bid process would begin in spring 2019 with projected completion for August/September.

COMPLEX DESCRIPTION:

With the help of BP&R a plan has been designed for 12 dedicated Pickleball courts and 2 dual-purpose Tennis/Pickleball courts. The site will be the area behind the West YMCA at Hobble Creek Park. It will allow for the growth of Pickleball in the Treasure Valley and attract tournament play.

FINANCIAL UPDATE:

During the past two years the seven member Fund Raising Committee has contacted the top 100 corporations in Idaho. In addition we reached out to a number of foundations and private donors in the Treasure Valley.  Donations have been received for the purchase of the two championship courts, one additional court and the flagpole.  We encourage advocates to join together with friends and/or relatives to purchase a court. Once the court is purchased the donors will be given the opportunity to name their court. The committee thanks those pickleball advocates who have demonstrated their commitment to this complex by purchasing a court.

Bricks with the names of the donors are available for purchase. Contact Nick or Tami Leach at tamileach1@gmail.com to buy a brick.

All donations to this complex are tax deductible through our 501 (c) (3) at:

COMMITTEE NEEDS YOUR HELP:  WE MUST RAISE ADDITIONAL REVENUE!

  2. We want to establish a Go Fund Me Please contact us if you have knowledge of this type of fund raising activity. We are looking for someone to manage this fund raising effort.
  3. The current committee has been active for two years and is looking forward to welcoming new members joining the committee who will bring a fresh approach to efforts in meeting the financial requirement of $100,000.00 by November 1, 2018.

SUMMARY:

The dedicated eight-member committee has been working earnestly for the past two years to meet the required financial obligation as set forth by the Boise Parks and Recreation Department.

We must meet the $100,000.00 obligation within the next eleven months.   We need your help to meet this goal.  Please consider donating during this 2017 tax- deductible period. DONATE NOW.
