9 people and companies you should be following in Pickleball

By Duke with Quick Pickle on Apr 03, 2018 12:00 am

Hello friends, (repeat in your best Jim Nantz voice at the Masters)

As Pickleball grows, so does the options for Pickleball info.  We thought we’d put together a list of the must-see options on where to go.  Here is our first annual list of the 9 people or companies you should be following in Pickleball.

All Pickleball– Jennifer Lucore, a 17-time USAPA Nationals champion, 11-time Canadian Nationals champion and winner of many gold medals at the US Open and PPF tournaments created a Pickleball blog in 2014.  Her must-read blog covers her travels, tips, advice, her tournament experiences and much more.

Pickleball Central– Need a paddle or balls or nets or anything else for the court?  Pickleball Central is a family run business out of Kent, WA that excels by offering awesome customer service.  If you’re not sure which paddle is best for you, give them a call or stop by their warehouse and they’ll help you out.

Pickleball Channel– If you’re looking for short videos covering specific areas of Pickleball, check out their website.  Hosted by the always smiling Rusty Howes, their videos get right to the point and offer graphics along with the demonstration to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

Pickleball Forum– The Facebook group started by perennial Pickleball champion, Aspen Kern, has over 16,000 members and is growing daily.  If you have Pickleball questions, it is the place to go to post it and get more responses than you ever thought you’d get.  If you’re looking for a partner at an upcoming tournament, vent about your new Pickleball balls breaking or sharing your successes, it’s the place to go.

Pickleball Guru– Prem Carnot, author of Smart Pickleball, travels the country offering private and group clinics.  The blogs on his website are for beginners and advanced players looking for more in-depth knowledge they can start using today.

Pickleball Rocks– What started out as a paddle distributor by Rocket Grubbs, turned into a Pickleball apparel company. Eventually they added programs donating paddles to schools, rec centers and parks departments along with the Pickleball Mile Club that encourages exercise by playing Pickleball.

Pickleball Show– Are you into podcasts?  This is the show you need to be listening to.  Hosted by smooth baritone Chris Allen, he talks with the top players in the sport to find out their best advice.  The #1 podcast for Pickleball can be found on his website as well as iTunes.  The episodes are fun and typically less than 20 minutes so you can get right back on the court.

Sarah Ansboury– She started playing Pickleball in 2014 and has been teaching the masses since then.  Sarah has had tremendous success on the court and brings that passion to her blogs and clinics.  Her blogs cover strategies, interviews with other players and inspirational stories that will get you excited to start playing.

USAPA– (USA Pickleball Association) The nonprofit that oversees development of the sport, rules, sponsoring and sanction tournaments, ranking players and everything else Pickleball.  Their website is full of info on upcoming tournaments, news, Ambassadors, Places 2 Play and much more.

Thanks for reading.  We know there are many more resources out there.  Let us know what we missed, and maybe we can include them on our next list.
