Dick Johnson Inducted into Huntsman Hall of Fame … pairs with Tim Gleason for Gold in men’s doubles.

Boise Pickleball Club’s own Dick Johnson has been inducted into the Huntsman Senior Games Hall of Fame. The prestigious award was presented to Dick by the CEO of the Games at a special dinner ceremony at the Hilton Convention Hotel in St. George, Utah. Three other pickleball players, Alice Tym and Yvonne & Jim Hackenberg were also inducted.

The Huntsman World Senior Games is the largest annual multi-sport event in the world for athletes age 50 and over. 11,000 athletes in 30 different sports competed in the two week event this year. The Hall of Fame inductees are chosen from the 230,000 athletes from 86 countries which have competed since the Games began 35 years ago. Besides world class athletic success, selection is based on things like service, character, etc. The Games’ goals continue to be to foster worldwide peace, health, and friendship.

Dick says one of the most enjoyable things at Huntsman this year was not only winning the needed Gold
medal to continue his Grand Slam pursuit, but also to win it in mens’ doubles with his long time Boise High buddy, Tim Gleason (Tim also is a member of the Boise Pickleball Club).
